Team TKD did their stuff Sept 17th 2011 at the Annual Toobabalooza adventure race in Gruene, TX.

This race features a 72’ Inflatable Obstacle Course start, Toobing in a River, Running, Mud Pits,  Obstacles and Toobing in a Lake. You must keep the Tube with you at all times. We did the race as a 5 person team.  The Team event is designed to be a TEAM building event as the Toobs will be tied together and  each member of the Team will be required to hold on to the Toobs at all times.

This made it pretty interesting at times! The team of 5 was made up of Darnelle Peterson (Goldthwaite, TX) Shannon Sweatt and Traci Davis of Weatherford, TX and Brandi Rountree and Kasey Ables of Goldthwaite, TX. The weather was great and at one point we were even rained on (which helped to rinse the mud away)!

Team TKD — out in the heat!

Well Team TKD Did the hot dog trot in Weatherford, TX Aug 6th – this event was started in 2009 with profits benefiting Parker Paws, the volunteer group that supports the local animal shelter. Wright Chiropractic’s goal is to present a fun day for the whole family while raising money for this great cause!

Team TKD planned to bring rescue dogs out for the event for adoption but do the heat we left them home with plenty of water and shade. But we did bring the kids to this one! Traci Davis and daughters Laurel and Taylor of Weatherford, Shannon Sweatt and daughter Ashtyn of Millsap, Darnelle Peterson and daughters Ellie and Emmary of Goldthwaite and Kasey Ables and daughters Nicole and Kelly also of Goldthwaite.

July event for Team TKD

 Team TKD had a lot of fun doing the Peach Pedal in Weatherford, TX on July 9th 2011. The team this round consisted of Traci Davis (Brock) , Kasey Ables (Goldthwaite) , Shannon Sweatt (Millsap) and Sandy Hodge (Weatherford). We made a big “splash” with our Tail-Wags helmet covers.  All the orange made us look like great “goldfish”! We were able to beat the heat and sunburn with “Sunology” sunscreen. This stuff is great and light weight it last thru sweat and all!Southern Magnolia Mineral Makeup was also one of the sponsors for the race – their mineral makeup is great and easy to use! Also want to thank Gourmet Garden Herbs — these fresh herbs are a wonderful addition to any kitchen.  Also being moms we are always looking for great books for our kids and we found a great book!! A light is born by Jo Lena Johnson is a great book for young and old. FireFly Race — We raced the night and won!!

The Firefly race in Plano, TX was the current adventure for Team TKD June, 4th 2011 – running in this 10K race was Traci Davis, Kasey Ables,  Shannon Sweatt and Darnelle Peterson. This race was a great and fun race. The run started at 9pm and was all in the dark all the runners had glow sticks, flashlights, blinking lights and glow paint, anything to make them stand out. This race was to benefit the  Children’s Medical Center! Team TKD was very bright and lite up!! We had a great photographer Marc Friedland with us to capture some wonderful shots! Marc was a pleasure to have along with the team. Of course our sponsors New Life Style Diet, Scout and Zoe and Sunsua.  Their websites on our shirts helped us glow thru the race! KJP Spring for SID 5K in Weatherford

This race was Dedicated to raising awareness and funds toward research in finding the cause of sudden infant death syndrome. In memory of Kinslee Jo Pickard April 1, 2010 – July 8, 2010!

Traci Davis, with daughters Laurel and Taylor and Shannon Sweatt with daughter Ashtyn ran this race and they all did well. Traci placed 4th in age group, Shannon was 5th in her age group and Taylor was second, Laurel was 4th and Ashtyn 5th in their age group. SIDS is the sudden death of an infant under one year of age which remains unexplained after a thorough case investigation, including performance of a complete autopsy, examination of the death scene, and review of the clinical history. All proceeds go toward the American SIDS Institute for research of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Rock n Roll Half Marathon

What a fun run!! The weather was a little cool but get to running and you warm up nicely! Team TKD, did the Rock N Roll Half Marathon in Dallas on March 27, 2011. We had our personal best time ever!! So excited about that. We were able to have fun mom time, with friends and still stay in shape! All for the great cause of fighting cancer! The race raised both money and awareness! We are so proud we were able to run in such a great race. The Bret Micheal’s concert after the race was a great reward as well! Please help us support our sponsors and look them up! This past weekend (Feb 26, 2011) Team TKD ran in the Run with the Bluebonnets in Bastrop, TX — This run benefitted the Elementary school in Bastrop and we were glad we were a part of it! We did our first Marathon!!! Dec 5, 2010 White Rock Marathon!! in Dallas TX Thanks so much to All our sponsors and a BIG Thanks to New Life Style Diet!! Their Protein bars helped us get thru the race!!!
